There are few people who command the Met Gala red carpet the way Zendaya does. Unfortunately for fashion fans, the Euphoria star skipped the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual fundraiser for the Costume Institute this year. Although she has become a regular in recent years, it’s understandable that she would want to take a break at the moment, right between a few major international press tours.

Most recently, Zendaya is winding down from a whirlwind schedule of international promotion for her latest film, The Drama. Zendaya and her longtime stylist, Law Roach, are known for their thoughtful method dressing approach to press tours. There was the futuristic fashion for Dune, elevated tenniscore for Challengers, and, for better or worse, bridal styles for The Drama, which courted controversy for its marketing as a romantic dramedy that also had a dark plot twist.

Nevertheless, Zendaya fully committed to the fashion theme on the red carpet, building a series of outfits around the bridal rhyme, “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue.” She kicked off the international tour in Los Angeles in “something old” with an off-shoulder Vivienne Westwood gown she previously wore to the 2015 Academy Awards. In Paris, she fulfilled “something new” in a custom Louis Vuitton gown by Nicolas Ghesquière. The actress checked off “something borrowed” in a custom Armani Privé gown lent by Cate Blanchett from her personal archive—a dress Blanchett has worn in both 2022 and 2025—in Rome. Zendaya completed the quartet in New York City in “something blue,” adorned in a parure of unenhanced sapphire and diamond jewelry set in platinum from Tiffany & Co. to go with her electric blue Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown.

For fans, the bridal theme had an extra special meaning as Zendaya got engaged to her Spider-Man co-star Tom Holland last year. The couple haven’t announced a wedding date, or if they’re even married already, but they will be back on the big screen together twice this summer.

On that note, Zendaya will soon be occupied with promoting two major blockbusters: first in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, which hits theaters on July 17, in which Holland plays Telemachus and Zendaya plays Athena. Two weeks later, they’ll reprise their superhero roles in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. (That’s not even counting the release of the third and final movie in the Dune trilogy out at the end of this year.) Thus, May might be the only time she can literally catch a break.
