Mississippi football lost former head coach Lane Kiffin after the regular season, as he was lured away by LSU to fill its opening.
Kiffin isn't the only coach to leave Oxford, Mississippi, either. He'll be bringing multiple Ole Miss staffers to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with him.

The Rebels are gearing up for a College Football Playoff run, reaching the 12-team bracket after finishing the regular season with an 11-1 record. The program elevated defensive coordinator Pete Golding to full-time head coach after Kiffin left.
Wunderkind offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr., who's joining Kiffin at LSU, is sticking with Ole Miss throughout its CFP run, giving the Rebels a play-caller familiar with Kiffin's system.

The Rebels were able to retain offensive line coach John Garrison, who is in his third season with the program and is staying on Golding's staff in Oxford, Mississippi. LSU interim coach Frank Wilson is leaving the Tigers to be Ole Miss' running backs coach in an interesting switch of schools.
Kiffin opted to retain LSU defensive coordinator Blake Baker, who was hired by former Tigers coach Brian Kelly. Baker, who received some head coaching buzz this offseason, is regarded as one of the best defensive play callers in college football.
