Paul Rudd is a Chiefs fan through thick and thin.
Travis Kelce had a heart-to-heart with the Avengers actor while discussing the Kansas City Chiefs' disappointing season on the Monday, Dec. 22 episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, prompting the star tight end to apologize to the longtime fan of the team.
"As a brother and a Chiefs fan, I love you, I'm sorry, but how are you feeling as a Chiefs fan right now?" Travis, 36, asked Rudd, 56, during his guest appearance on the podcast.
"Aw! Well, I'm thinking about you, brother," the Ant-Man frontman told the three-time Super Bowl champion, before Travis revealed that Rudd had texted him to check in.

"I know you shot me that text. I appreciate you, man," Travis told Rudd.
The Chiefs fan then went on to thank Travis and the team for bringing him so much joy over the years with five Super Bowl appearances in six seasons (and three wins), despite this season not going the way they planned.
"Honestly, how am I feeling about it? As a Chiefs fan, I am so happy to be a Chiefs fan," a smiling Rudd said. "The joy and the memories and everything the Chiefs have given me, with my family, with my kid... It's been an embarrassment of riches," he gushed.
The optimistic actor let Travis know that this hiccup with the team is "just right now," faithfully believing that it's only up from here.
"This wasn't the year, but that's okay," he said. "I know it's tough. I'm excited for whoever does it for their fanbase that they get to share the same kind of things that I got to share with my son for all three of those victories."
"Man," a now-smiling Travis quipped.

"...and even the losses, you know?" continued Rudd. "It's the best, so you know, I'm thinking about Patrick [Mahomes], I'm wishing him a speedy recovery... and everything for the club, but you know what? I'm okay."
Rudd's well wishes were in reference to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes who suffered a season-ending injury during the game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Dec. 14. He tore his ACL in the fourth quarter, underwent surgery the next day and is currently rehabbing to recovery.
The actor then went on to share what excites him most about the Chiefs and the team's players after regular season wraps.
"I'm excited for some of the players to maybe get a little bit of a summer vacation. I mean, my god!" he said, prompting an explosion of laughter from Travis and his brother Jason Kelce. "You've played an extra season of football compared to everyone else, and so I'm like, 'Oh good, you get a break.' "
Travis replied, "I hear ya, brother."

"I'm not too upset," reemphasized Rudd.
"I appreciate you having that positive mindset," the star tight end told the actor.
Travis, who is likely to retire from the NFL at the end of this season, his 13th, reflected on the bumpy ride the Chiefs endured this season.
"That's the game for you right there. It's just things just … when you need them the most just weren't falling for us, and, you gotta go back to the drawing board, man," the tight end said when discussing the game that cost them the rest of the NFL season.

"We got three games left," he said at the time. "I know we're still talking about this game, but, the integrity of who you are as a professional, as a player, you gotta love this s---, man," the tight end went on, insisting, "And Chiefs Kingdom, we're gonna give you everything we got."
