Sterling Point
First Heated Rivalry, then Off Campus, and now Sterling Point—it’s safe to say the coming-of-age show is back. The series follows uptight New York City teen Annie Jacobson (Ella Rubin), who inherits a remote lake island in Canada from her late grandfather. Once there, she finds herself navigating new friendships, burgeoning romances, and long-buried family secrets.
While Gen Z shows written by someone from another generation often catch flak for awkward or forced dialogue, the characters in Sterling Point feel like real teenagers rather than exaggerated Gen Z archetypes. Much of that authenticity can be credited to creator Megan Park, who told Yahoo News that she was aware of this disconnect and handled it by giving the actors plenty of freedom to play with the dialogue. The result is dialogue that feels less like a script and more like a natural conversation between peers. Awkward pauses, nervous stammering, and all the little imperfections in between make it feel true to the teenage experience.

When Margo gets pregnant by her English professor during her first semester of college, she drops out to raise her baby and, with bills piling up, turns to OnlyFans to make ends meet.
Between the delightfully eccentric characters you quickly find yourself rooting for, the brutally honest depiction of single motherhood, and the surprisingly heartfelt moments woven throughout, this series is wholly unique and a total gem. You’ll be laughing one minute and tearing up the next.

One of the most intriguing and expertly crafted crime series of 2026, this show follows FBI agent Alice Black (Emmy Rossum) as she hunts an enigmatic female serial killer (Lola Petticrew). Widow’s Bay
Equal parts spooky and silly, Widow’s Bay is an unexpected hit, earning a whopping 19 Emmy nominations. Set in the sleepy town of its namesake, the series stars Matthew Rhys as Tom Loftis, the town’s mayor, and Kate O’Flynn as Patricia Moyer, his neurotic, socially inept assistant. When Loftis learns of a centuries-old curse said to haunt Widow’s Bay, he’s skeptical at first. But after a series of increasingly strange supernatural misfortunes, he becomes a believer—and makes it his mission to uncover the truth behind the curse.
The show’s ability to seamlessly blend humor and horror is rare, striking a tone that feels both genuinely creepy at times and ridiculously funny at others. With stellar performances from Rhys and O’Flynn, Widow’s Bay is refreshingly wacky and refuses any attempt to put it in a box.
