Teddi Mellencamp revealed her natural hair growth after losing it during radiation treatment for skin cancer that metastasized to her brain

She has undergone multiple surgeries and continues immunotherapy treatments despite being told there is “no trace of cancer”

Mellencamp also shared that she is relearning to walk in heels, a skill she lost during treatment

Teddi Mellencamp is letting her hair down.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 45, shared a reveal of her real hair in a candid post to her Instagram Stories on Thursday, Aug. 26, taking off her Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap to reveal a wig cap underneath her long braided-pigtail hairpiece.

Set to The Chicks‘ 2006 hit, “Not Ready to Make Nice,” a grinning Mellencamp rips off the wig and wig cap, scratching at her head with a relieved smile on her face.

The Two Ts in a Podhost has been candid in sharing her life after cancer treatment, previously revealing her blond locks to show “what one year of regrowth looks like after losing it all during radiation.”

Mellencamp has been wearing wigs in various styles as her hair grows back; along with radiation, she underwent brain surgery after her skin cancer metastasized to her brain and lungs in March 2025. Weeks later, she shared that her cancer reached stage 4.

Her health struggles began in 2022 when she was first diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma — the deadliest form of skin cancer. She underwent 17 surgeries for the invasive skin cancer, before it spread last spring.

Although doctors told her she had “no detectable cancer” in October, 2025, she said she’s still “not considered in remission.” She reiterated that there was “no trace of cancer” during a January 2026 appearance on her Two T’s in a Pod podcast, but still has nine months of treatment left, which at this point consists of immunotherapy — her “least favorite day of the month.”

But the immunotherapy, she’s shared, is “healing me day by day” — and as Mellencamp showed in a later post to her Instagram Stories, she is regaining another skill lost during treatment.

“I am sort of able to walk in heels again,” she captioned a video that showed her walking down a long hallway. “Not great but baby steps.”
