RFK Jr. is sparking internet buzz once again with a new photo of himself holding a rescue bird. Netizens have taken the opportunity to poke fun at the HHS Secretary, alluding to his past bizarre encounters with animals.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. posted a photo on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) of himself holding a bird in his right hand as he looks at the camera. The Health and Human Services described it as a “rescue at Dulles!” in the caption. Several reports have recognized the bird as a European starling. The post quickly went viral, with netizens reacting with memes and jokes, noting Kennedy’s past bizarre encounters with animals.

Shortly after Kennedy shared the post, netizens took to the comments to share GIFs and memes mocking the HHS Secretary. One X user shared an edited image of the photo with the bird replaced by a can of Monster energy drink, while another shows him pointing a gun at the camera. Several people have also referenced Kennedy’s past encounters with animals.

Kennedy has previously recounted stories of his encounters with dead animals. During his 2024 presidential campaign, he revealed in an interview with , “I’ve been picking up roadkill my whole life. I have a freezer full of it.” Earlier, in a video with Roseanne Barr, Kennedy recalled seeing a bear get killed and left on the roadside.

Most recently, investigative journalist Isabel Vincent quoted Kennedy’s diary entry in her new book on the HHS Secretary. “I was standing in front of my parked car on I-684 cutting the penis out of a road killed raccoon, thinking about how weird some of my family members have turned out to be,” Kennedy reportedly penned in his journal (via PEOPLE).

RFK Jr. did not elucidate on how the bird in his recent social media post was rescued. Dulles Airport has not given any further statement on the matter either.
