Prince Harry Faces Security Hurdle as He Plans Move Back to Britain With Family

Prince Harry’s attempts to mend his relationship with his family members are bearing results, as he has managed to meet his father, King Charles, and Queen Camilla. To ensure that the bond continues to improve, he has reportedly planned to move back to Britain with his family.
But a security expert claims that their return to the U.K. could create further complications because of their current royal status. The expert explained that the move would require careful planning because it also involves the King’s grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Prince Harry and Family Could Have a Security ‘Problem’ After U.K. Return
According to The Telegraph, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning to relocate to Britain to a non-royal residence outside London. Their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are also reportedly enrolled in a British school and would start in September 2026.
However, it remains unclear whether Harry and Markle will resume working royal roles. The report comes after it was reported by Closer that the Sussexes are clashing over their children’s education, with Harry not ruling out “British education.”
The Telegraph also noted that their security arrangements have not been disclosed, adding “there has been no announcement of any change.” Harry has previously made it clear that he would not “feel safe” bringing his family back to the U.K. without police protection. The state has so far refused to provide him with police security.
In a separate report from Tyla, Will Geddes, a security professional, shared that Prince Harry’s previous statements are working against him. “Now, the problem is, Harry has undermined his entire argument for RAVEC (Executive Committee for the Protection of Royals and Public Figures) security,” he explained. “Because the threats he’s been the most concerned about are generally within the United Kingdom, and yet he’s returning home.”

The expert noted that it could be challenging for RAVEC to grant security to Harry and his family, adding that they would have to wait to see how the issue develops. He added, “They may do another assessment – Harry is going to be aiming for it, but if he’s not carrying out royal duties, it’s going to be difficult.” Geddes noted that King Charles recently learned about the Sussexes’ U.K. return plans; hence, security would be “planning this for some time.”
He predicted that it would be an ‘interesting’ matter because Archie and Lilibet would be starting school later this year and they might eventually require “personal security.”

In a separate report by Radar, a source noted that King Charles has finally acknowledged his estranged son’s efforts and extended him an olive branch. The Duke of Sussex is reportedly not taking his father’s gesture for granted and believes that this was his “last chance” to get back into his good graces and potentially rebuild his relationship with the wider royal family.
The source noted, “There’s a real ‘now or never’ sentiment,” referring to King Charles’ current health and the possibility of Prince William eventually becoming the new King. They added, “Harry may never get a better window of opportunity.”
