Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly landed in the UK without any major security. The move comes days after multiple outlets reported that the Sussexes are returning to Britain for an extended period of time. Their children, Archie and Lilibet, are already enrolled in a British school and will commence their new term in September. Notably, there was no immediate confirmation of their arrival on Wednesday from representatives of the Sussexes.
Report suggests Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have arrived in the UK
The BBC has reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have returned to the UK without security. As per the outlet, the Sussexes are believed to have flown into Britain privately from California. They landed in Birmingham shortly before midday.
A source told the outlet that the airport did not appear to have heightened security or police stationed at the airport when Harry and Markle arrived. The Sussexes’ close representative further commented, “This is not something we would comment on.”
According to a report by PEOPLE, Harry and Markle will reside in a private, non-royal home while retaining their homes in Montecito and Portugal. It is reported that the couple plans to live in the Cotswolds; hence, they picked Birmingham Airport as their choice of airport.

King Charles was “made aware” of the couple’s plans on August 16, and he welcomed the idea of meeting his grandchildren in a private capacity. However, there will reportedly be no change in Harry and Markle’s status as non-working royals. The couple stepped down as working royals in January 2020 and relocated to Montecito, California.
The Duke of Sussex visited the UK last month to honor his commitment to the Invictus Games. Towards the last leg of his trip, Markle and their kids joined him in meeting Charles and Queen Camilla. The Sussexes met the monarch at his private residence in Highgrove House, Gloucestershire, on July 10. Reportedly, the Sussexes did not discuss their plan of action with the King and Queen then.
Simultaneously, reports suggest that the Duke of Sussex’s ongoing battle with the UK’s authorities over taxpayer-funded security continues amid his move back to the country.
