Piers Morgan has spoken out about his nearly 20-year friendship with Donald Trump, making it clear he "vehemently disagrees" with the US President over the conflicts in Iran and Ukraine.
The pair have maintained a close bond for nearly two decades, with Morgan sitting down with Trump on his show 'Piers Morgan Uncensored' in 2022.
In recent days, however, the US President has launched scathing public attacks against Volodymyr Zelensky while pushing both him and Vladimir Putin toward a peace settlement in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Mr. Trump has also issued a series of stark warnings to Iran over recent months, as US strikes on Iranian targets have escalated, with tensions in the Strait of Hormuz driving fuel prices sharply higher across the US.

Earlier this week, Morgan responded with a vomiting emoji on X to a clip featuring Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff bizarrely describing Putin as a "humanitarian" during high-stakes talks with the Russian President in St. Petersburg.
An X user then put the question directly to Morgan, "Piers, do you still consider Donald Trump to be your friend?" to which he replied, "Yes.. as he has been for nearly 20 years. But I vehemently disagree with him about the Iran and Ukraine wars."

The unlikely friendship between President Trump and Morgan was forged when the British broadcaster competed on and ultimately won Celebrity Apprentice USA, hosted by the then-business mogul, back in 2008.

During an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told Morgan he felt let down by the US president after the US president reached a deal with Moscow to secure diesel supplies and ease domestic fuel prices.
Morgan stated, "If you are watching President Trump, do the right thing here. Siding with Vladimir Putin against this guy and his country is the wrong thing.
"It's what we called in World War Two, appeasement to Hitler. Don't be that guy. Give this guy the support he needs to defeat the modern-day Hitler."

Back in 2024, Morgan told Laura Kuenssberg, "I know he's seen President Zelensky in person. And Zelensky didn't come away and say anything negative about that conversation, so whatever was discussed, he clearly wasn't anti the conversation thread.
"I think Trump's a deal maker in his heart, that's really his great raison d'etre as a politician, that's what he's good at, and I don't think he's going to come in.
"Back to the White House, with a legacy now to make for himself, where the first action is to give a Russian dictator a clear win in a war on Europe. I just can't see that happening."
Before Morgan's friendship admission, Trump wrote on Truth Social, "We are having productive discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran. I want to make it clear to everybody that, while Iran is in very bad condition, both Economically and Militarily, and while the Blockade will remain in full force and effect, with Oil flowing in Record Numbers of Barrels through the Hormuz Strait (22 Million Barrels, last night alone, with not one barrel coming from, or going to, Iran!),
"We will not be attacking Iran at any time prior to the Midterm Elections to be held in the United States on November 3rd. IRAN WILL NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON! President DONALD J. TRUMP," he added.
