One hospitalized as fire rips through mobile home, cars in Apple Valley

An intense fire tore through a mobile home and several vehicles, sending one person to the hospital, in Apple Valley on Tuesday.
The fire broke out about 11:25 a.m. on a property at Blackfoot and Columbia roads, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department logs.
The fire severely burned a mobile home and three vehicles at the site.

Firefighters declared it knocked down about an hour later.
One person was taken to a hospital with burns, sheriff's department spokeswoman Amber Hutton said. An update on the victim's condition was not available.

A second patient may have also arrived at a hospital by private vehicle, officials said.
The fire was initially believed to have originated with burning trash on the property, Hutton said.
No further details were available as the investigation continued.
