Meghan McCain’s recent comments on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s daughter North West have received mixed reactions online. The television personality criticised North’s turn as muse for the Dazed magazine cover that showed her in a bold avatar.

In the cover picture for the magazine, West appeared in edgy outfits, bold piercings, and grills, and flaunted her bright blue hair.

North West Sports a Bold Look on the Magazine Cover

McCain took to X on Tuesday, August 25, and wrote, “This poor baby. My heart just breaks for this child.”

While the columnist refrained from mentioning North West’s parents’ names, she took a subtle dig at the 13-year-old’s parenting. She explained the reasoning behind her statement that she was not mocking the Piercing On My Hand singer but was instead genuinely concerned about her.

She wrote, “I was not mocking. I feel terrible for her and believe that kind of magazine cover is no place for a child. Don’t twist it.”

West’s gracing the cover of the magazine comes amid her growing presence and attention in the entertainment industry. Apart from having famous parents, which inevitably gives her the “nepotism” tag, she is also commanding attention through her bold look, especially her blue braided hairdo and piercings, along with her foraying into the music and rap industry like her father.

The Citizen McCain host’s comments have triggered massive discussion online, especially regarding her unique looks and professional choices. Netizens have blamed her mother, Kim Kardashian, for her parenting.

A section of social media users has expressed support for the 13-year-old, saying that she is free to live her life on her own terms.

One of the social media users commented, “Doesn’t she have anything better to do instead of attacking Kanye West’s daughter? Not that we agree with his daughter’s choices especially in the recent times. Her choices are questionable but Meghan is the wrong messenger.”

Another X user wrote, “What is Meghan McCain’s purpose other than embarrassing her father?” while an X user chimed in, “A grown woman talking about a child is so sad. She should be sad that this is her life.”
