Fans loved the vintage snapshot, with many saying she was ahead of her time

Martha Stewart is proving once again that even a decades-old snapshot can still get the internet buzzing.

On July 3, the now 84-year-old lifestyle icon shared a sultry throwback image from the ‘70s of herself wearing a short denim jumpsuit while carrying a basket of freshly collected eggs at her Connecticut farm. The Instagram post quickly drew attention for its mix of nostalgia, countryside charm, and effortless confidence.

“Let this 1976 snapshot of Martha in Westport, Connecticut serve as your ultimate summer inspiration,” the caption read, in part.

Fans loved seeing the vintage snapshot, with many pointing out that Stewart was setting trends decades before social media existed.

“Martha invented hot girl summer,” one user wrote, while another praised her lasting influence, commenting, “you were way ahead of your times. The OG influencer.”

The photo, however, wasn't just a fashionable blast from the past — it also highlighted the place where many of Stewart's earliest ideas began to take shape.

In the caption, her team explained that the “farmstead property,” Turkey Hill, served as the backdrop for several of her first ventures, including the “expansive all-season gardens” she developed and the inspiration behind Entertaining, the 1982 cookbook that launched her publishing career.

The book quickly became a bestseller and helped establish Stewart as an authority on hosting, home décor and food, paving the way for a publishing career that eventually grew to more than 70 books.

Her success ended up expanding far beyond the page. Stewart went on to build a multimedia empire spanning television, magazines and home products through Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, becoming one of the most recognizable names in the lifestyle space.

“And as for Martha’s well-known love for picking farm fresh eggs? Well, it’s always been a good thing,” the post concluded.
