LSU's football program got some great recruiting news on Sunday afternoon.

Five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson committed to the Tigers over the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He's the top tight end recruit in the country and the No. 16 overall recruit in the nation, per Rivals' rankings.

Hudson is also listed as a five-star tight end in the 247Sports Composite rankings and is the third-best recruit in his home state (Louisiana).

This is a big get for Tigers head coach Lane Kiffin, as he was able to keep one of the top players in Louisiana at home. He's also the program's highest-ranked recruit in its 2027 class.

Hudson is a multi-sport athlete and plays basketball in addition to football. He also participated in the Navy All-American Bowl this year.

Switching gears back to Kiffin, this will be his first season as the Tigers' head coach. They pursued him during the hiring cycle, and he chose to take the job after serving as the Ole Miss Rebels' head coach for the previous six seasons.

He finished his Rebels' tenure with a 55-19 record and helped them make the College Football Playoff this past season before taking the Tigers' job.

Kiffin has also coached at Florida Atlantic, USC, and Tennessee, compiling a 116-53 overall record as a head coach.

The Tigers will open the 2026 college football season on Sept. 5 with a non-conference matchup against the Clemson Tigers. It will be a great test for them right out of the gate before playing the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs on Sept. 12.
