Lance Gross has a new look — and his mom isn’t pleased.

On Wednesday, Aug. 26, the actor, 45, revealed a bright blonde hair transformation in an Instagram carousel. In addition to photos and videos showing off the new color, Gross included a clip of himself in the salon chair having his hair dyed.

The Tyler Perry’s House of Payne actor also shared a screenshot of a text exchange with his mom, who appeared less than thrilled with her son’s blonde style.

“Call Traci and ask her if she know a good beautician that can dye your hair back black and I will cash out her the money to pay to have it done, because it really look horrible,” Gross’s mom wrote.

Gross simply replied, “No.”

In the caption he joked, “My Mama HATES it but my kids LOVE it…🤷🏿‍♂️🤣.”

Fans are finding the humor in the situation.

In 2025, Gross opened up to PEOPLE about his relationship with his wife Rebecca Gross as they geared up for their 10th wedding anniversary. The actor shared how he and Rebecca keep their relationship fresh by continuing to prioritize date nights.

“You know, it feels like yesterday,” Lance says of the intimate L.A. ceremony the couple had back in 2015. “I mean, it’s always new, because we’re friends first, and I think we have a strong respect for each other. So you know, if we disagree, we talk about it. It’s all about communication with us.”

While admitting he’s “absolutely” a romantic, the actor said he was thinking past Valentine’s Day and focusing his energy on plans to finally take their long-awaited honeymoon in Italy the next month.

“We never took our honeymoon,” he revealed. Though he said “we are a traveling family,” Gross and his wife, an in-demand celebrity stylist with whom he shares daughter Berkeley Brynn, 11, and son Lennon Lorin, 8, were never able to celebrate their marriage, just the two of them.
