Hadid's new style was revealed ahead of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's rehearsal dinner at Madison Square Garden in New York City

Gigi Hadid is sporting a new look ahead of her friend Taylor Swift's wedding festivities.

On Thursday, July 2, the day of Swift's rehearsal dinner at Madison Square Garden in New York City, hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos revealed his latest creation for the model, which he dubbed "love layers."

In photos shared to Instagram, Hadid 31, poses with her long, blonde hair in bouncy layers that curl in slightly at the bottom, giving the appearance of what Giannetos calls "heart-shaped layers."

"I wanted to create the version of the C-cut giving this evening to Gigi some Love Layers (aka heart shape layers) !" the stylist wrote on Instagram. "A bit more lift on the roots and the first layers start hitting a little below the chin till the tips of the hair ! It creates basically an illusion of heart shape layers!"

To style Hadid's new cut, Giannetos says he used "a big round brush" and then pinned the hair up until it cooled down. He then brushed the hair with his fingers and sprayed with hairspray to create the heart-shaped layers.

While Hadid had not yet been officially spotted heading to Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding festivities, she is likely to attend as the pair have been friends for over a decade.

Guests were seen arriving at Madison Square Garden on July 2 for what was believed to be the famous couple's rehearsal dinner.

Around 6 p.m., the couple's celebrity pals — including Lena Dunham, Jack Antonoff, Abigail Anderson, Erin Andrews, Charissa Thompson, Greg Olsen and Aric Jones — were seen arriving at the venue for the festivities wearing sequined and jewel-tone dresses.

A few days before Swift and Kelce's celebrations, sources told PEOPLE that Madison Square Garden has been "transformed" in the days leading up to the expected wedding.

On Monday, June 29, multiple trucks were spotted outside the famous arena with workers loading equipment, grass and other decorations inside. Boxes labeled "Garden Party" and "Mirror Ball" were spotted outside the venue.

One source told PEOPLE they've "never seen" Madison Square Garden "look so different."

Last week, The New York Timesreported Swift had rented the N.Y.C. venue for a multi-day event. A City Hall representative later confirmed to PEOPLE that a permit was filed through the City Street Activity Office to shut down the surrounding area.

According to The New York Times, Swift and Kelce's plans allegedly include a smaller gathering of about 100 people on July 2, as well as a larger celebration with around 1,000 guests on July 3.
