The Pittsburgh Steelers play in their third and final preseason game against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night.

Three things to watch…Will the young quarterbacks bounce back? It’s been an up-and-down preseason for Will Howard and Drew Allar. There was a lot to like about the first game and a lot to dislike about the second. Both could use strong showings against Buffalo to put themselves in the conversation to be Pittsburgh’s next starting quarterback in 2027. Howard may even need a great game to solidify his spot on this year’s team.

Does Broderick Jones bounce back? He’s had to overcome a severe neck injury to play this preseason. However, Jones has had a rough preseason, bouncing between right and left tackle. Both starters and reserves have found success while facing Jones. The Steelers declined his fifth-year option earlier this offseason and may decide to part ways even sooner if he can’t contribute to this current team.

Jones and Howard are just two players that might be on the roster bubble. Will any other player on the bubble stand out to solidify their spot on the roster? Some of the positional battles are for the third-string running back, backup safety and depth inside linebacker spots.
