Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’s sequel will be titled The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth.
Brad Pitt is reprising his role as stuntman Cliff Booth in the upcoming Netflix film.
David Fincher is directing from a screenplay by Quentin Tarantino.
Once upon a time in Hollywood...the sequel finally got a name.
Just three months before its release, Netflix has unveiled the title of David Fincher’s follow up to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The brief new teaser reveals that Brad Pitt will return to his Oscar-winning role in The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth.
Tarantino is back as screenwriter, having initially written the film with the plan to direct, after already expanding the Once Upon a Time story in novel form. But he then decided against moving forward, and Pitt was still keen on reprising his stuntman character, leading him to bring Fincher in, marking a Seven and Fight Club reunion.

“I love this script, but I’m still walking down the same ground that I’ve already walked, and there’s no questions,” Tarantino previously explained. “There’s no ceiling for me to hit the head of my talent on. And it just kind of unenthused me as we went forward. And so until I finally just pulled the plug.”
Released in 2019, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was set in 1969 Los Angeles, following a fading TV star, Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), and his stunt double-turned-driver, Cliff Booth (Pitt). Cliff is quiet and cool, and he gets plenty of badass, hero moments, between (controversially) beating up Bruce Lee and (not-controversially) killing members of the Manson family.
“Everyone wanted to play Cliff,” Tarantino previously told Entertainment Weekly. “I have a tremendous amount of respect for Leo as an actor [because] he wanted to play Cliff, but he knew he was better for Rick.”
Opening exclusively in IMAX on November 25 before landing on Netflix a month later, The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth will also star Elizabeth Debicki, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, Scott Caan, and Timothy Olyphant.
