That specific theory was later shut down. On April 27, Beyoncé’s publicist Yvette Noel-Schure responded directly to the claim on X, writing, “This is unequivocally false!!” Shortly afterward, Today With Jenna & Sheinelle also reported that a source close to Beyoncé with “direct knowledge of the situation” said Act III would not be released that week.
While the Met Gala came and went without an album announcement, Beyoncé’s appearance at the event still sparked a fresh wave of fan theories about the project’s direction and timing.

The latest wave of theories stems in part from Beyoncé’s recent Instagram activity. Fans have closely analyzed a series of posts, including images of her in a purple Saint Laurent look that some linked to Prince’s “Purple Rain,” as well as a separate photo featuring three lemons. While some fans interpreted it as a hint, the clip dates back to 2001, during the Survivor era, and aligns with Beyoncé’s recent post celebrating the album’s 25th anniversary. Like other claims, the theory remains unverified.
Even those closest to Beyoncé are not offering concrete details. During an April 2026 appearance on Sherri, Tina Knowles was asked about Act III. She joked, “If I told you, I’d have to kill you,” before adding, “I really don’t know because you know I got a big mouth, so she doesn’t tell me anything till the last minute.”
